yeah im gonna romance him so i gotta learn to draw him

Adding on to the Black Widow inquisitor one (which is amazingly done btw!); companions, advisors, and romances reacting to them suddenly disappearing leaving only a note reading “be back soon” only to return a week later with a small army of people in tow. They killed the people responsible for their upbringing and liberates the other victims, who are all different races and some of whom are children.

dareactions:

Widow!Inquisitor Au ftw! I’m happy you liked it!!! : o It was a lot of fun to write!

Cassandra: When she wanders in to ask the Inquisitor about sparring, and finds an empty chamber and a note- she panics. There isn’t much that scares Cassandra but when the most important person in Thedas goes missing she has to admit she feels nothing but fear. After quickly informing everyone; and with little to no luck in actually finding the Inquisitor she waits. She simply waits as patiently as she can, and when the inquisitor returns? Oh there is certain hell to pay- that is until she sees the Inquisitor walk into Skyhold looking as roughed-up as ever. She is ready to scream, scold and shout them down for their reckless behaviour until she sees the kids. Cassandra can’t bring herself to be angry when she sees the utterly terrified and tired children clinging onto who they only see as their savior. She let’s the subject go- for now. However when the times come the Inquisitor will find that informing Cassandra is the right thing to do. If Romanced: She is far from as worried as people thought she would be, she trusts her lover and while it scares of what he just may be up to she accepts that it’s probably best that she doesn’t know for now. She makes sure to inform Leliana and sleeps very little while staying up and waiting. When the Inquisitor returns she is quick to embrace them, giving them a hushed scolding for not telling her what was going on. She helps with getting the victims of these awful people to healers, and is glued to the Inquisitor for some time after the whole ordeal. ‘’Tell me before you run off next time, you almost gave me an heartattack’’

Solas: If low approvement he hardly cares at first, until reminding himself that he still needs the Inquisitor even if he doesn’t like them much. When Cassandra informs Leliana he offers to seek help from the fade. If High approval he is more likely to feel a hint of panic, quickly seeking aid from the fade to figure out just where the Inquisitor went. When he finds little to no answers he gets frustrated and impatient, requesting Leliana to inform him when the Inquisitor comes back. And when the Inquisitor one day steps back into skyhold, with what he would honestly call a small army he can only sigh- give them a tired smile and nod. He isn’t even surprised anymore, however he helps to heal the Inquisitor and assists in helping the new members of the Inquisiton. If Romanced: If one hasn’t seen Solas angry before, they will see him furious now. He is quick on his feet to the fade and gives himself little to no time to actually rest. When his lover returns he can’t help but argue with her later that night. She should’ve told him- what would’ve happened if the Inquisitor had fallen? After their rather loud fight he rubs his temples, explaining calmly to his lover why he got so shaken. She has a very watchful apostate following her the following weeks after that. He can’t forgive himself for letting her do this alone. ‘’Next time, allow me to assist vhenan’’

Dorian: When Cassandra comes rambling about the Inquisitor leaving in the dead of night all Dorian does is groan out of annoyance, how could he not have seen this coming? He attempts to calm everyone down, the Inquisitor can care for themself and he has a inkling of an idea of where they might be going. He attempts to remain calm himself but he feels slightly frustrated that he honestly could be helping them but instead has no idea where they are. Once the Inquisitor returns he can’t help but just shake his head, giving them a shrug. ‘‘I expected nothing less from our hero’’ as he helps victims of this organization of sorts to healers and also congratulates the Inquisitor on their revenge. If Romanced: Dorian Pavus is not amused, he is quite honestly annoyed. Angry almost. When the Inquisitor returns they find an upset boyfriend in their chambers, he looks at his Amatus and for a split second he wants to yell. He wants to be angry and upset but instead he just sighs, and leans onto them. ‘‘I thought I lost you Amatus’‘.

Sera: Sera isn’t worried initially, the Inquisitor can do whatever- it isn’t her problem. But when a couple of days turned into a couple of weeks, she gets anxious. She sends some messages to other Jenny’s and asks for updates if they see anyone matching the Inquisitors description. When they return she punches their shoulder ‘’Tried to worry us to death or somethin’?’’ as she gives them a side-hug. She helps the children relax, offering a cookie or two and making sure they know the bad guys are gone now, and nothing can hurt them now. If Romanced: She is initially angry when inky comes back, she should’ve been allowed to come along. This whole thing is about trust, isn’t it? But she softens up once her love gives her a proper explanation. ‘’Aight’, I’ll let it to go this time. But next time let’s go together?’’ She stays with the Inquisitor as she gets healed and fiddles around with their gloves as she waits. For a second she honestly thought they’d never return.

Blackwall: He has seen a lot of different types of leaders through his life- one who runs away to do lord knows what? That’s a first for him. He joins Dorian in the groaning out of annoyance club and facepalms as the information reaches him. Of course they’d do something like this. He remains calm througout the ordeal but once the Inquisitor returns with children he feels all his courage through the years run dry. He does his best to help the victims and points Josephine to the direction of the inquisitor. He has to admit this only makes him admire his superior even more. If Romanced: Deja Vu much? He can’t even bring himself to be angry, he did the same thing pretty much out of nowhere himself so- however he is still worried. He knows his lady can deal with just about anything but still, if she gets injured nobody will be there to help. Once the Inquisitor returns he gives her a worried and soft smile ‘’guess that makes us two runaways huh?’’ as he laughs and gives her a proper embrace. He will help with anything she asks, kids need a healer? He is already on it.

Iron Bull: A part of him wants to laugh and the other one cry, this was typical lone-wolfs. They don’t think but much rather act because they believe the world wont be fully aware of their decisions. A part of him knew that the Inquisitor was planning on leave but he had remained silent, hoping it would be a fast trip. He understands right away what their plan is as they have been gone for a couple of days and talks with Leliana about setting up scouts in the area. The Chargers help keeping an eye out whenever possible as well- might as well be prepared for the worst. When the Inquisitor returns he gives them a goddamn high-five, they were able to liberate this many people on their own? That’s impressive especially if they are an dwarf. He buys them as much booze as they want in the tavern and helps with the kids, he is good with kids so might as well offer whatever he can. Bull quickly becomes popular with the children around skyhold and it’s not rare for him and the Inquisitor to be seen checking up on them. If Romanced: A part of him is pissed for not calling out the Inquisitor and going along when he sees them stumble through the gates injured. He gets them to a healer as quickly as possible and still helps with the many victims of this cruel organization. When all is said and done he helps his kadan get some well worth rest, making sure they aren’t missing any injuries or worse- hiding them. ‘‘Kadan, you are absolutely amazing. But we can do these things together you know- You helped me, let me help you’‘

Vivienne: If the Inquisitor had any contact with their mother they feel like this is how they would’ve acted. The angry woman that stands with her arms crossed as they return from their liberation mission is a scary sight. ‘’Do you have a death wish?’’ She hisses, and throughout the entire healing of the Inquisitor she is there, telling them off and reminding them how utterly ridicolous their actions were. She was worried sick and she makes sure they know just how worried she was. At the end of the day she sighs, rubs her temples and looks at the now ashamed Inquisitor. She tells them they did a good job, but that they should always remember that they may be the Inquisitor- but they aren’t immortal. They have an Inquisiton for a reason.

Varric: For a split second Varric almost doesn’t want to put this in the book, for the main reason that the Inquisitor might just disagree with having such an image. He will ponder upon his next move, helping Leliana in trying to track down the Inquisitor but there isn’t much he can do. He is the first one to meet the Inquisitor as they make their way back however, he gives them a confident grin and helps them back inside. He is the only one able to get everyone off their back ‘’the Kid just fought off some psychos, give em some rest’’. He offers to hold them company as they are being healed, telling stories to the children once they have gotten settled. He feels proud over having a great person as a friend and superior, and for a moment he can almost see Hawke in them.

Cole: Cole tried to come along, he really did- but the Inquisitor stopped him dead in his tracks and begged him to stay behind. Much to his dismay. He wanted to help. When everyone is panicking he remains calm, he knows they can do this even if they will get hurt doing so. He helps the children when the Inquisitor comes back. Some just simply wants to forget, and he offers a small solution for their stress. He helps with any pain and he just does his best; he gives the Inquisitor a big smile when they meet. ‘‘You helped them’‘

Josephine: She has to do actual breathing exercises. She finds herself impatiently tapping her foot for each day that and surprisingly Josephine realizes she has never prayed as much as she has these past days. When the Inquisitor comes back she is in hysterics, every injury on them is making things worse for her. She is happy and proud over that they helped other people, especially the children- but she wishes they would’ve informed her so they wouldn’t have had to go alone. It takes some talking to but she agrees to at least let them get healed in peace, as she writes yet another report of what in the world just happened. She becomes almost like an older sister to some of the kids, making sure they have everything they need and trying to find homes for them. It feels nice for her to do something for others again. If Romanced: May the maker have mercy on the Inquisitors eardrums. She goes on a huge speech about safety and how reckless they were, reminding them that the Inquisiton is a team believe or not. She is furious that her lover kept this from her and for a moment she breaks down in frustrated tears. ‘’I was so worried you would die’’. It takes a lot for her to calm down, hugs and kisses mixed with a few glasses of wine and a night just for them. Other than that she reacts the same, helping the kids keeps her mind of what could’ve happened.

Leliana: Cue a facepalm and a groan, make that three in the groan group of the Inquisiton. She sends out scouts right away, appreciating the help from Iron Bull as she attempts to track down the Inquisitor. If she fails she is incredibly impressed with the Inquisitor upon their return, praising them for their ability to stay hidden for as long as they did, leaving no tracks. She will scold them for the note, saying it was a little too melodramatic and offer to help them to go to the healer. There isn’t much she can do, except for clean up after the Inquisitor.

Cullen: He has stayed in the back for most of the entire ordeal, he can’t do much as this is more of a tracking mission. He offers to position guards around Skyhold so that they can easier assist the Inquisitor when they return and once they do- he simply stands back for a short second. He pats their back when they return however, telling them that they did good and giving them a soft proud smile. A part of him is just happy that they made it back in one piece. He helps as much as possible with the victims and offers to try and find duties for the adult ones that could use their skills in a more, legal manner. If Romanced: Have you ever seen a grown man have a moment of pure and utter frustration- if you have you would know how Cullen handles the information. He knows she can handle herself but a part of him is completely livid and knows that the world is out to get her. He stays up longer nights than usual and awaits her patiently, and when she returns it takes some time to get him to calm down and stop scolding her. He stays in her quarters for some nights after it, making sure she doesn’t go anywhere and assisting her in whatever she needs while getting some much needed rest. ‘’For a second I almost thought you’d not come back’’ is something uttered more than once.

Companions, advisors, and romances react to an Inquisitor with the fighting skills, espionage training, and background (kidnapped as a child, raised to be a living weapon, sterilized upon mastery, was a spy/assassin for hire before becoming the Herald, etc...) as Black Widow/Natasha from the Avengers movies.

dareactions:

Cassandra: She is even more likely to be suspicious after the conclave, she has seen the look in Leliana’s eyes and it is very similar as to the person before her. Even after they are proved innocent she is unsettled by their efficiency in the field of killing. It takes a long while for her to get used to the Herald and their behaviour but once it’s revealed just what they had to go through to reach where they are, she feels nothing but pity. No child nor adult should have to go through what the herald did. If Romanced: It takes a while for the romance to spark, she finds it difficult to speak to the herald about a lot of things; but once the two are close it’s not odd for her to make late visits to support her lover. He has been through a lot and she can only imagine just how much scars that has left. She would quickly ask Leliana for any help in tracking down those responsible; nobody should have the power to do that to another person.

Solas: The elven apostate has seen and met a lot of different individuals in the Fade, however the Inquisitor outshines them all. Upon first meeting them, he would even admit to being impressed with their skills. Solas will be uncomfortable once he finds out what led them to being this skilled however; the Inquisitor has already been through so much and now he has put them in yet another painful situation. If Romanced: Solas wishes he could ask for forgiveness for bringing them into this situation, he knows what the Inquisitor has done in the past- and what others has done to her. If she has any nightmares, anxiety or anything as a result from her past; he is quick to help her calm down whenever issues arise. It’s the least he can do- seeing as killing the people responsible is out of the question.. for now.

Dorian: He was hardly surprised when the Inquisitor mentioned it in a conversation over chess, they had that look. The look of the many people hired to kill in Tevinter; and he recognized it right away. He will offer his condolences for their past experiences and try to distract them whenever they seem to be going down a bad road within memory lane. If Romanced: He wouldn’t have anything against finding the people who did this to his Amatus and burning them alive; however that would only cause more trouble. Instead he shows his support by late-night talks; suggestions to stop any recurring nightmares and if the Inquisitor ever needs it- a shoulder to cry on. At times he wonders if he should actually seek out the people responsible, this often happens on the nights where his Amatus shakes from the memories and screams from pain that isn’t present anymore. He can’t do much to change the past, but he will work to make his future brighter.

Sera: At first she is unsettled, because it’s odd to see someone so calmly take lives as if they are just taking out the trash. But as long as the Inquisitor keeps to murdering baddies she is alright with it. When she finds out their past she is nothing less than furious; cursing the people who did this to whom she considers a friend. She suggests they play some pranks to get their mind off things whenever a memory may rise; and if she ever figures out who did this to them- well Jenny will have to pay a visit. If Romanced: Sera is livid when she finds out, how could someone hurt HER Inky? Her wonderful wifey who literally has done nothing wrong? There will be many nights spent on the roof, where she will offer kisses and hugs if the Inquisitor asks for it. She loves her Inky more than anything, and the fact that someone hurt them to this degree and robbed them of so much makes her blood boil.

Blackwall: When they first meet he is actually worried it’s someone to sent to kill him because of the look in their eyes. However he calms down when they are introduced and actually is impressed with their skills; he does feel slightly unsafe at first- it’s not anyone who can cut down people and look like it’s the least impressive thing in the world. When he gets told what has happened to lead the Inquisitor to be so effiecent he feels sick to his gut, that someone would rob a child of their childhood so they could become their puppet disgusts him. He offer to talk over a drink, the stable doors are always open for the Inquisitor if they need to talk. If Romanced: His blood boils and he feels slightly light-headed, this wonderful human being who forgave him for doing something unspeakable- had to go through hell on earth. He tries to support them in any possible way and will help them if they ever break down. He knows revenge isn’t the way to go, but he almost feels tempted to go through with it anyway.

Iron Bull: They didn’t even need to tell him anything, he saw the signs when they first met. The inquisitor had no mercy when killing, it was as second nature to them like breathing and sleeping. He jokes with them about the fact that they’d make an amazing Ben-Hassrath. He hasn’t missed the nervous tics, the way they almost seem panicked when they hear certain names and locations. When he finds out he pats them on the back, telling them that it’s alright for them to be angry. He buys them a drink and speaks with Leliana if it’d be possible to do something about the people who did this; incase they ever feel like replacing their lost agent. If Romanced: He looks at his kadan with nothing but sorrow when he finds out, he offers them a warm and big ol’ hug and takes them to the tavern to drink with people who care about them. Bull offers to help them track the people down if the Inquisitor wants to. He will gladly be there to shove an axe into those assholes ribcages.

Vivienne: The person who enters her party surprises her, because they look like someone who would help during the games in Orlais and not a player of the game. She will have little to no opinion on their abilities in the field, unless their cold attitude could harm their reputation. Upon finding out she softens up slightly, understanding why they act they way they do. Viv does everything to help and enters mom-mode pretty easily if people try to speak ill of the Inquisitor. They may not agree on everything but she knows the person behind the title is a good person, especially if they tried to help her cure Bastien. She will be like a mother they never had the opportunity to have. She will also be very quick to speak with Leliana or Josephine about this, as the scary thought of them doing it again will always linger in her mind otherwise.

Varric: A part of him always knew that the Inquisitor was too good at what they did, he would joke about them being a professional but it unnerves him to find out he was correct; they were an professional. He offers his condolences to them upon finding out their past and buys them a drink or two. He will always be there if they need a shoulder to cry on. Varric knows that Hawke still has some deep issues from the ordeal with their family, and having that kinda shit done to you since you were a child? That can’t be good. He keeps this information out of his books, the Inquisitor shouldn’t have to be reminded of their past whenever they look into his work. He speaks to Leliana and some of his contacts to stop the people who did this, they could very well still be doing it and that worries him.

Cole: ‘’Painful, tiring and loud- it never stops. The screaming echoing, people begging- you’re begging. They hurt you, they took you from your home and made you into something you weren’t.’’ He wants to help whatever way he can, he offers to make the Inquisitor forget but when they decline he just ends up giving them small gifts to cheer them up. He is utterly distraught whenever the Inquisitor thinks they see someone from their past. He must help.

Josephine: When she finds out she makes a mental note to tell Leliana about this; but her first job is to make sure the Inquisitor is alright. She offers to contact a psychologist of sorts, to help them deal with the memories that haunt them. She keeps an watchful eye on the Inquisitor and makes sure they don’t overwork themselves. Josie considers them a friend and she takes care of the friends. If Romanced: She feels so small all of a sudden, her breath escapes her as she hugs her lover. The thought that someone would do this to someone so amazing and especially a when they were just a babe disgusts her. She insists they go to someone to talk, and if they refuse a psychologist she will gladly become their person to talk to. A lot of late nights are spent with tea, just talking and making sure the Inquisitor is alright.

Leliana: At first she is incredibly impressed, and happy to find someone who understands her occupation. When the Inquisitor brings up how they ended up being so good at what they do, her heart stops. Not once did Leliana imagine that people actually would do that to just a mere child. She doesn’t even bring up the fact that she is searching these people down until she has find them, the Inquisitor has to act on this as it’s a danger to other children in Thedas. She lets them know that her door is always open, would they need to talk.

Cullen: He finds the Inquisitor unsettling when he first meets them, they look- so dead? In the scenario that it’s the Inquisitor that tells them directly what happened in their past he offers them a shoulder to lean on for support. He knows how it is to deal with trauma and nightmares. The Inquisitor will always find someone that understands in Cullen- and he will push them carefully to inform Leliana or Josephine to find these people. If Romanced: He is angry, angry that someone did this to a child and angry that it just had to be the woman he loves. Cullen takes little to no time to drag the Inquisitor somewhere private to hug them and to make sure they know he is there if they need him. A lot of late nights are spent with literally nothing but wine and long conversations that carry on until morning.

Companions and Advisors from Inquisition finding out Diplomatic!Hawke had a child in the three year gap between the fight with the Arishok and the final fight with Meredith that their friends all helped them hide and that Varric left all mention of the child out of the Tale of the Champion to protect them (for Varric it could be his reaction to the others finding out). Varric protecting Hawke gives me life!

dareactions:

Cassandra: She somehow understands why Varric hid Hawke like he did, a child has no place in the midst of war but she would’ve liked that information before she tried to beat the living daylights out of him to find out where Hawke was located. She makes sure to keep her temper around the kid if they come along to Skyhold but she is still frustrated nothingless. She will however applaud Varric for his loyalty, much to the dwarfs surprise.

Solas: He doesn’t have much of an opinion on Hawke as a subject, it was never much of his interest anyway. However he can’t help but wonder just how loyal Varric is to this ‘Champion of kirkwall’ to lie to this extent. However he doesn’t ever speak his curiosities and just simply lets things happen, it wasn’t a subject he had the right to judge.

Sera: She has to admit she is surprised, she isn’t much for nobs or legends; but the champion of Kirkwall has a kid? Now that’s a joke and a half, she is confused as to why Varric would keep it a secret but simply shrugs it off- she doesn’t mind much as long as the kid isn’t all high and mighty.

Blackwall: He understands why Varric kept Hawke hidden for so long, and why Hawke chose to stay hidden. He is surprised to find out that they were able to even have a child during their years in Kirkwall, and that the child survived Meredith but he doesn’t have much of an opinion other than that. Just a lot of positive things to say about Varric.

Iron Bull: That- explains a lot actually, at least for Bull. He had heard rumors about the person who beat the Arishok but he didn’t expect them to be a parent, he gives Varric praise for keeping it out of the book and keeping it a secret for so long. It’s hard to find loyal friends- especially people like Varric who would lie to the world for you.

Vivienne: Honestly she isn’t too surprised Varric chose to take things out of his little story, but she doesn’t care too much other than that. Unless Hawke is an apostate she doesn’t care much for them either as a subject, they saved Kirkwall and that was amazing- but that is about it.

Varric: Carver/Bethany was going to murder him. He honestly didn’t expect anyone was going to find out about the kid, especially not so soon- he feels disappointed in himself for letting Hawke’s secret slip but in the end he can’t do much other than accept what has happened at this point. He is extremely protective over the kid and whenever anyone asks questions they are met with a certain hostility you wouldn’t expect from him.

Cole: He- honestly doesn’t understand fully. Cole doesn’t understand quite the big idea, and he is just happy that Varrics friend isn’t mad.

Josephine: Josephine is impressed she hasn’t heard anything about this child, but other than that she is more worried for Varric. She knows how- harsh? Cassandra can be when angry and chose the wrong thing to lie about. She simply sighs and listens to the yelling however.

Leliana: She suddenly understands why Varric was so presistent in keeping Hawke away, and she applauds him for his loyalty. If the child comes with Hawke to skyhold she will linger around- merely out of curiosity. But other than that she cannot do much to save him from Cassandras wrath.

Cullen: Oh no. If you walked past Cullens office when he found out you would see him praying to the maker that the kid is literally only half of what a troublemaker Hawke ended up being. If Carver is a templar it’s more of a worry the kid is like their uncle. However he has no ill feelings toward Varric and understands his reasoning even more.

mooshs-crack-headcanons:

I think it’s funny that when Cassandra gathers ppl to save the world you get the (mostly) het Inquisition. But when Varric gathers people it’s always a wild pack of deranged fruits, AKA the DA2 crew minus Sebastian (the dlc straight) and the Veilguard minus Solas (status pending)

Idk what to put as a ending post image so here’s Varric with his cleavage out
